Station Hill Baptist Church, Chippenham

A sensitive renovation, multiple extension and roof conversion within this town centre Georgian Bath Stone church building. The design was achieved through close collaboration with the architect and client, making maximum use of the available site by extending right up to the boundary with new foundations and retaining walls.

Giraffe Engineering carried out an analysis of the existing roof trusses, which enabled these to be retained and adopted as part of the roof conversion works. The existing floor joists were trimmed out to accommodate a new lift and new openings were formed in the original walls to open up the internal spaces.
