Cath joined Giraffe Engineering as an Associate in 2023 and is heavily involved in the growth and development of the business, playing a key role in both project delivery and procurement. She brings a wealth of structural design experience across both the private and public sectors, with a portfolio that encompasses modern new-build developments alongside complex alterations to historic and listed buildings.

She has particular expertise in the education sector, having successfully delivered numerous primary schools, university buildings, and sports halls including major Building Schools for the Future (BSF) projects.

Cath graduated from the University of Bath in 2006 Civil Engineering and went on to achieve a Post Graduate Diploma in Structural Engineering and Construction Management in 2008. She fulfilled Chartered Structural Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2011.

Cath excels in multi-disciplinary coordination, working closely with architectural and M&E teams to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into the client’s brief. Additionally, her background as a practised bid writer has given her strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills, ensuring a highly practical and client-focused engineering approach.

Outside of work, Cath is a keen stand-up paddle boarder and has even managed to convince the rest of the Giraffe team to grab a board and give it a try.
