Marsh Haus, Certified Passivhaus, Bath
As a certified Passivhaus, this new build dwelling offers extremely high levels of internal comfort and thermal performance along with exceptionally low heating energy requirements, which helps to greatly reduce the operational carbon footprint of the building.
Giraffe Engineering also worked to minimise the embodied carbon footprint of the building. This is achieved by a timber frame superstructure utilising highly engineered timber I-joist and lightweight prefabricated roof trusses, founded on a shallow reinforced raft foundation which helps to minimise the volume of concrete used on the project.
Giraffe Engineering offered a full suite of structural and civil design services on this project, from the concept design stage, through detailed design and construction.
