Joe joined the Giraffe team in 2024, bringing a diverse portfolio of structural and civil engineering expertise. With a career that spans London’s fast-paced design sector and deep academic research, Joe offers a unique perspective on modern construction challenges.

Joe holds a first-class MEng and a PhD in natural building materials from the University of Bath. This specialised background fuels his passion for timber and timber-hybrid design, where he focuses on lowering embodied carbon through lean, accountable engineering.

A Chartered Engineer (MIStructE), Joe balances his project work with a commitment to education and innovation. He regularly collaborates with university research groups and has served as a tutor and lecturer at the University of Bath.

Outside of the office, Joe is a keen climber and enjoys spending much of his time exploring the outdoors.
